FEATURES
HPC - High Performance Construction
Skytex 32 leading edge, X-Light top and bottom sail,
TX-Light ribs, Kevlar bridle lines, Dyneema LCLs
ADS - Automatic Drainage System
Openings at the wing tips to drain water, sand, snow,
dirt, etc.
2-Level Bridle Design
Minimizing drag by reducing bridle lines. The VMG is
controlled by a pulley on each side of the wing, it has no
mixer. The kite is trimmed by changing the bar setup or
adjusting the bridle lines.
PMA - Profile Momentum Adjuster
Knot ladders installed on the upper sail for tuning the
stability and symmetry.
Rigid Airfoil
The profile is additionally stiffened by fiberglass
rods. The rods are integrated into the construction
and are replaceable.
Additional loops on the canopy
To adjust the bridle after heavy use.COMPARISON
FLIGHTFEELING
The minimalist VMG shines through extraordinary simplicity
and incredible upwind performance. The feedback at
the control bar, as well as the pull you feel on the harness
hook increases proportionally with the speed you ride at.
This makes the VMG a very predictable kite that continuously
produces controllable pull, even in turbulent conditions.
The depower is very effective and provides the necessary
security. The turning radius is large. FLYSURFER
recommends pulling a large radius during a jibe to keep the
line tension steady throughout the loop.
VMG2 vs VMG1
The VMG2 is more stable in turbulent conditions and has
a stiffer construction. It covers a large wind range, has
excellent depower and its upwind performance is unmatched.
The Skytex material on the leading edge offers very
good performance in moist air or in the rain. The VMG2
shines with its precise bar feedback. The trimming effort
has been reduced to a minimum in comparison to other
race kites and it offers a high level of user-friendliness
in this regard. The durability has improved thanks to new
reinforcements compared to the predecessor.
The VMG1 has a higher aspect ratio and lower overall
weight. It performs very well with the perfect trim and
in laminar conditions but requires speed-based tactics
to get the best result. Relaunching and launching in light
wind is much easier and bridle lines are less prone to
tangling. We clearly recommend beginner to intermediate
racers use the SONIC product lines.
VMG2 vs SONIC3
In combination with a hydrofoil, the VMG2 is clearly more
powerful and requires a very experienced kiter to extract
the full performance. The longevity is significantly lower.
The SONIC is designed for riders who like to go fast, jump
high and need an easily accessible low end. The userfriendliness
is well above the VMG. The launching, the
handling and especially the relaunch is easy. FLYSURFER
recommends the SONIC3 to all (free-) racers who like to
sniff competitive air and want to have an excellent freerider.
